On Monday, the International Tennis Federation confirmed that Bologna will host the Davis Cup Final 8 in Italy in 2025–2027. The Italians, under the leadership of Jannik Sinner, have won the Davis Cup twice in the last three years at Malaga, Spain, where the men’s team competition is held.

The most recent major tennis event to travel to Italy, the current location of the ATP Finals, is the Davis Cup. A crucial clay-court competition before the French Open is the Rome Masters.
While Paolini finished the year at No. 4 in the WTA rankings and twice finished as the runner-up at major events, Sinner won two Grand Slam championships and rose to No. 1 in the ATP rankings in 2024. Also read: Jannik Sinner ‘very confident’ in positive outcome after WADA appeals his doping case
In recent years, Italian tennis has experienced a boom. In addition to Sinner, who in June became the first Italian to hold the top spot in the PIF ATP Rankings, five other Italians—Lorenzo Musetti, Flavio Cobolli, Matteo Berrettini, Matteo Arnaldi, and Luciano Darderi—finished 2024 in the Top 50 of the PIF ATP Rankings.
