Miami has appointed longstanding women’s tennis coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews to the new position of director of the school’s men’s and women’s tennis programmes, allowing her to oversee both teams while still coaching the women.
It is the second time Miami has promoted a female coach to lead both the men’s and women’s programmes in an Olympic sport. In 2008, the school appointed Amy Deem, the women’s track coach at the time, to director of track and field and cross country. Deem remains in that position, having coached about 200 All-Americans at Miami. Also read: Simona Halep Reveals The ‘Disastrous’ Outcome of Her Doping Ban Following Her Comeback in Miami
Yaroshuk-Tews has led Miami’s women’s tennis team to the NCAA tournament’s Sweet 16 15 times in 23 seasons.

“Paige is one of the most accomplished coaches in college tennis, and she has a clear vision for how Miami tennis should collectively look, feel, and function,” Miami athletic director Dan Radakovich said. “I am excited to see how she helps the student-athletes in both of our tennis programmes maximise their talents.”
As part of the changes, Radakovich elevated Alex Santos, the longtime associate women’s coach under Yaroshuk-Tews, to head men’s coach.
“I want to thank Dan Radakovich for giving me this unique opportunity,” Yaroshuk-Tews stated. “Miami tennis holds a special place in my heart, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to oversee both men’s and women’s tennis at The University. To achieve success at the greatest level, we shall collaborate as programmes, staffs, and communities. Also read: Boris Becker discharged from bankruptcy court in England
