Andrea Rita, an Italian tennis player, has been suspended for 15 months as part of a corruption probe, the International Tennis Integrity Agency announced Friday.
According to the ITIA, Rita, 23, admitted to violating four anti-corruption regulations, including betting on tennis matches and failing to report a corrupt approach. Also read: Reaching New Heights: Veronika Kudermetova Claims Second Title at Toray Pan Pacific Open
The breaches took happened between 2018 and 2020. Rita was also fined $5,000, with $4,000 suspended.
